We are looking for a Front Desk Operative to work as part of the Transport front line Team in Middlewich. This is a key role working with the driving workforce to help us deliver a safe, legally compliant and professional transport solution to our clients and customers

This role is a 4 on 4 off shift pattern on nights but there would be a need for flexibility to cover holidays etc if the need arose. Hours 18:00 - 06:00.

Key Responsibilities:

- Driver Management
- Brief drivers on their day's work, issue vehicle keys, delivery paperwork etc.
- Debrief drivers on return to depot.
- Control Agency Drivers, check driving licences, ensure agency questionnaire completed, checked and signed.
- Issue Winsight phone for load tracking.
- Monitor drivers and update drivers of any changes during the day.
- Check all paperwork against worksheet - record and escalate any missing pod's.
- Check any customer receipt notes against POD's.
- All returns accounted for at debrief and relevant people informed.
- Ensure that all driver packs are made up with the appropriate equipment and sheets that are required.
- Ensure that all phone calls are taken in a professional manner and dealt with or escalated where required.
- Ensure all paperwork is filed away in the appropriate tray ready for collection.
- Ensure that the handovers are complete and up to date.
- Liaise with Despatch desk for loads that are required.
- Communicate all lates and fails through to the Customer service team inform all interested parties and make any necessary adjustments to the plan to resolve any issues.
- Ensure that any service vehicles or trailers that are on handover, are collected or dropped off, if unable to complete then a detailed handover must be left.
- Enter agency hours on system for payment .
- Update OTM for any Tesco delivery issues.
- Action vehicle defects, contact repairers to arrange repairs and breakdowns

Skills & Experience

- Experience of a FMCG transport environment.
- Good interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Attention to detail and tenacity.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Good knowledge and understanding of Microsoft.
