As an English graduate teaching assistant you will initially start the role as a support member of staff assisting the teacher and students within the classroom. You will then be given responsibility of some key intervention groups within English, this will involve supporting a range of learners including A/A* and C/D borderline students. The role will evolve as your confidence and knowledge of teaching grows and you will be supporting by an exceptional leadership and head of English throughout your journey.

The school are passionate about ensuring all of their staff are graduate level and are now looking for two English graduates, ideally from a top university and with good academic achievements, to join them from September. After two terms you will have the option to go on to the school's train to teach programme which initially you will be an unqualified teacher with the potential to gain qualified teacher status. Previously graduates who have taken the role as a graduate teaching assistant have gained excellent experience and have gone on to become outstanding trainee English teachers due to the fantastic support and guidance on offer at this school.

To be successful in your application to become a graduate English teaching assistant you must have at least a 2.1 from a top university with strong A levels at grade A*- B and have a true passion and desire to train to teach eventually.
